Please Properly Care for Your Latex Clothes
Latex is a natural material and needs special attention. With correct care, your garments can last for many years. Please follow the guidance below.
1) Washing Your Latex Clothing
- Hand-wash in lukewarm water using a special latex detergent or a mild, unscented dishwashing soap.
- Avoid household cleaners, bleach, and anything containing chlorine.
- Rinse thoroughly, hang the garment inside-out on a plastic hanger to dry, then turn right-side-out and finish drying.
- Store with unscented baby powder lightly inside, or polish the outside with a latex preservative.
- Washing machine or tumble drying is not recommended.
Chlorinated latex may be washed the same way and typically won’t stick together after washing.
Silicone oil (or unscented talc) as a dressing aid: Apply to your skin like a body lotion before dressing, or lightly inside the garment—especially sleeves, legs, and the crotch—to help it slide on.
Do not apply silicone oil to the inside foot area of stockings or footed suits; slipping may force toes through the latex and cause damage.
2) Taking Off Your Latex Clothing
- For catsuits, removing under the shower makes it easier. Use liquid shower soap inside the neck/shoulders, then slide off gently.
- Push the material with flat hands—do not pull or tug.
- Be cautious: socks/footed garments are slippery when wet.
3) Correct Storage
- Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight and heat.
- Use garment bags for large items; small items can be lightly talced and stored in sealing plastic bags.
- Avoid long-term weight on narrow/rigid hangers that can stretch shoulders.
- Keep away from dark fabrics, metals, jewelry, belt buckles, and coins to prevent staining—especially on light colors (white, pink, beige).
- Avoid perfumes, heavy makeup, and petroleum-based products (e.g., Vaseline).
4) Making Latex Shine
- Polish with silicone oil, Vivishine, or AMOR ALL (pump spray). Apply evenly with a damp sponge.
- Do not use conventional microfibre cloths; they can roughen the surface.
5) Additional Tips & Precautions
- Avoid sharp objects, long nails, and cigarettes; consider cotton gloves when dressing.
- Copper stains latex permanently.
- Always use water-based lubricants with latex (avoid oils).
- Do not store near sunlight or moisture; if chalking occurs, a light silicone finish can mask whitened areas.
6) Repairs
- Tears are not manufacturing defects. For seam splits, send the garment to us for professional repair when possible.
- DIY patches (inner-tube style kits) can work in a pinch, but the result may be visible.
Longevity: With proper storage and after-wear washing, latex can last many years. Frequency of wear and stress points affect lifespan.
